Questions worth answering before you ask them.
Packages & pricing
01 What does "from €X" actually mean?
It means the scope varies enough between clients that we won't put one fixed number on it in advance — usually because it depends on scale (number of markets, SKUs, or system size) that we need to understand first. Every other tier on the same page is a genuine fixed price: what you see is what you pay.
02 Are the published prices net or gross?
Net — every price on this site excludes statutory German VAT, which is added as a separate, clearly labelled line at checkout, calculated per your billing country (see "How is VAT calculated," below).
03 What if none of the eighteen packages fits what I need?
Tell us the scope through /contact/ or the "Request scope" button on the closest service page. We'll either point you to the package that actually fits or come back with a bespoke fixed price before any work begins.
04 Can I order packages from more than one discipline at once?
Yes — add each package to your cart individually; the cart and checkout handle multiple one-off and recurring items together, with separate subtotals for each.
05 Do you offer a discount for ordering multiple packages together?
Not automatically — published prices are the price, for every client, which is the point of publishing them. If a specific multi-discipline programme changes our own delivery cost enough to matter, we'll say so in a bespoke quote, not apply an undocumented discount.
Process & turnaround
01 How is turnaround counted?
From the date your project's kickoff stage completes (see /process/) — not from the date you place the order, since kickoff is when we confirm the specifics your project actually needs.
02 What happens if I don't respond during a review window?
Nothing breaks, but the project clock keeps running against your package's stated turnaround — a review response outside the agreed window can shift your delivery date by the same number of days.
03 Can turnaround be expedited?
Sometimes, depending on current studio capacity — ask when you request a scope or at kickoff. There's no standard "rush" surcharge published because availability, not price, is usually the real constraint.
04 Do you work with clients outside Germany?
Yes — we work in English and German with clients across the DACH region and internationally. VAT treatment differs by country (see below), but the process and packages are identical.
05 What happens if a deadline slips on our side (e.g. late content or feedback)?
Your delivery date moves by the length of the delay — we don't silently absorb it into the existing timeline, and we don't apply a penalty for it either. We'll tell you the new date as soon as a delay is clear.
Files & IP
01 When do we own the final files?
On final payment. Before that, work is shared under a limited review licence — standard practice, stated in full in the Terms.
02 What source file formats do you deliver?
It depends on the discipline — see each service page's "What you receive" section for the exact formats (e.g. native design files for identity work, a source repository for web builds, Figma files for product design). Nothing is delivered as export-only unless a package explicitly says so.
03 Can you work inside our existing brand files or Figma workspace?
Yes, where that's the more sensible starting point — we confirm this at kickoff rather than defaulting to always starting fresh.
04 Do you keep the right to show delivered work in your own portfolio?
We ask for this on a case-by-case basis and only use it with your agreement — nothing is added to our site or portfolio without your sign-off, and our published concept work is always clearly self-initiated, never presented as a client project (see /work/).
05 What happens to work in progress if a project is cancelled partway through?
See "What's your cancellation policy," below — cancellation and work-in-progress terms are covered there and in full at /legal/refund/.
Cancellation & VAT
01 How is VAT calculated?
Germany-based orders: 19% German VAT (USt.), added as a separate line. EU orders with a valid, format-checked VAT ID: 0%, reverse charge — the line reads "Steuerschuldnerschaft des Leistungsempfängers / Reverse charge." EU orders without a VAT ID: 19% German VAT. Orders billed outside the EU: not subject to German VAT (§3a UStG). A VAT ID you supply is checked manually against the EU VIES register before we issue your invoice, since a static order form can't verify it automatically.
02 What's your cancellation policy?
You can cancel free of charge any time before kickoff begins. Once kickoff has started, our standard structure is a 50% deposit (invoiced at order confirmation, due before kickoff) and a 50% balance (invoiced on delivery). The deposit is non-refundable once kickoff work has started, since it covers the studio capacity reserved and the scoping work already done; any further work completed beyond kickoff is billed pro-rata against stages actually delivered. Full detail is at /legal/refund/.
03 Can we get a refund after work has started?
Not for work already delivered against a milestone — you keep what's been paid for and delivered up to that point, at the review licence stage; final full-rights transfer still requires final payment for that stage. Work not yet started is not billed. See /legal/refund/ for the complete terms.
04 Do EU consumers have a statutory right to withdraw from an order?
Consumers (not businesses) ordering from the EU have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal under German law. Because most projects begin (kickoff) well within that window at the client's own request, placing an order and asking us to start counts as express consent to early performance — the full withdrawal mechanics, including what happens to fees already earned for work performed before a withdrawal, are set out at /legal/refund/. This right does not apply to business (B2B) orders under German law.
05 How does the Design Retainer's monthly billing interact with cancellation?
The retainer has a 3-month minimum term; after that, cancel any time with 30 days' notice. See /services/design-retainer/ and /legal/refund/ for full terms.
