How the retainer works

One-off projects don't cover the steady drip of smaller ongoing requests, and hiring in-house is often premature. The retainer is fixed monthly capacity across brand, web, UI/UX, motion, and packaging & print — queued through one shared request list, turned around on the cadence your tier states.

  1. 01 What's covered: any request across the other five disciplines — a new landing page, a seasonal campaign asset, a packaging refresh, a component addition, a motion cutdown.
  2. 02 How requests are queued: you submit requests to a shared list; we work them in order, within the number of active requests your tier allows.
  3. 03 Cadence: average turnaround per request is stated per tier — most small requests clear faster than a one-off project would, because there's no new kickoff each time.
  4. 04 What's not covered: work that is itself a full new package elsewhere.
  5. 05 Billing: monthly, recurring. Your first month is invoiced from your order date; the same amount recurs monthly thereafter.
  6. 06 Commitment & cancellation: minimum 3-month term, then cancel any time with 30 days' notice.
  7. 07 IP transfer: ownership of each month's completed work transfers to you as it's delivered, under the same terms as our one-off packages.

FAQ

01 What counts as one "request"?

A single, reasonably scoped piece of work — a landing page, a social template set, a packaging variant, a motion cutdown. Something large enough to be its own project (a full new identity, a full site build) is scoped and priced separately; the retainer picks up the work around it.

02 Can we change tiers later?

Yes — you can move up a tier at your next billing cycle, or step down at the end of your current minimum term.

03 What happens to a request that isn't finished by month end?

It carries over — the monthly cap is on active requests in progress, not on abandoning unfinished work at a billing boundary.

04 How is this different from just hiring an in-house designer?

No recruitment risk, no ramp-up time, and no single point of failure if one person is unavailable — you get studio-level range across five disciplines instead of one person's skillset, at a fixed monthly cost.

05 Can we pause the retainer?

The retainer is billed monthly with a 3-month minimum term and 30 days' notice to cancel; a pause isn't a separate mechanism, but you're never locked in past that notice period.
